Winners Bar based at Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel & Spa has appointed Roberto Rossi as its Manager. A familiar face in the local community, Roberto was born and raised in nearby Blackwood, and has 20 years’ experience in the industry, previously owning The Square Café and running the food operations at prestigious establishments including Cardiff Castle.
Winners Bar & Golf Supplies was extended and refurbished in June 2017, and introduced a hot and cold snack menu including award winning pies, state of the art golf simulator alongside the current indoor putting studio and golf supplies including the latest ranges from Nike, Under Armour and Calloway.
The team are working on removing the stereotypical ‘golf clubhouse’ persona. Many still believe that it is members only which is not the case. Winners Bar is open to all, and has created a coffee house feel by day and sports bar night. Clientele vary from the traditional golfer before or after a round, ladies who lunch, business professionals to have an informal meeting and hotel residents enjoying their evening.
Throughout Winners Bar there is comfortable lounge seating, and entertainment including a pool table and amusements. Plus you can watch the golfers on the large sun deck overlooking the 10th & 11th fairways on the championship golf course.
The snack menu is available from 7am every day until close and offers breakfast rolls and pastries. From lunch time jacket potatoes, panini’s and a selection of award winning pies and pasties are available served with creamy mashed potato and a rich homemade gravy. Food is available to eat in or take away – ideal for local companies and businesses who are board of shop bought soggy sandwiches.
A variety of events are also hosted here, with past events including a 70’s night, quiz night and Halloween parties for both families and adult only. Our junior golfers also enjoy a family BBQ once a month. The venue can also being hired for networking meetings and private functions. They are also gearing up to the festive season, where nearly 1,000 are booked to enjoy Christmas parties in Winners Bar.
Live sports are shown on the large screens throughout the day, including the Premier League on weekends and the upcoming Under Armour Series (Autumn Internationals) where you can get a pie and a pint for £5 during the game.
The Caerphilly area attracts many cycling groups, with several trails to follow. You can also follow the route of the annual Velothon which passes Bryn Meadows. Winners Bar is a perfect stop off for cyclists to refresh and hydrate. As part of the refurbishment, a bike rack and service station has been added where you can clean your bike, repair a puncture or pump up the tyres.
Winners Bar has been voted the ‘Best Welsh Club House’ by Top Golfer Magazine and the 4th in the UK in 2015, and was also a finalist as ‘Best Bar’ at the Business Growth Awards 2017.
